The Burns Unit team includes a number of very different professionals who help to provide the patient with the best overall and wide ranging care. This means that in our team there are surgeons, nurses, anaesthetists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians, psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers.

There are no named transition nurses that specifically help young people transition between the children’s burns service and the adult unit here at Sheffield. However, when a young person is transitioning between the services, they are offered the chance for one of the children’s burns nurses to go to their first adult appointment with them.
