Transition Stories

When you kind of build the trust up with people in the hospital, and you get comfortable because you’re already trying to accept what’s happened to you, and you’ve just started to talk to people, and then you get told that you’re moving away… It’s quite… not upsetting but… it’s quite difficult.

worries and concerns

It can be quite normal to feel worried about moving to a new service. Again, if you have any particular worries, write these down and ask about them at your first appointment. It might be helpful to have a look at the Patient Stories page to see how other young people making the transition to their new service felt. Don’t worry in silence – talk to a friend, family member or your burns team.
