The Mersey Regional Burn Unit serves a population of 5 million people. It provides specialist inpatient and outpatient burn care services for a large catchment area across the North West of England, from Merseyside including North Wales and the Isle of Man. The Mersey Regional Burn Unit also offers 24 hours a day 7 days a week rapid access review unit called the Burn Assessment Unit.
Our multidisciplinary team includes Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Psychologists. The team work closely together to provide a holistic approach to burn care including critical care, rehabilitation and reconstruction. Our team also have support from Dietetics, Speech and Language Therapists and Prosthetics services.
The Mersey Regional Burn Unit inpatient service has a total of 12 beds consisting of four high dependency beds eight single rooms and a four bedded bay. The unit has close links with the Intensive Care unit. We provide continuing care within our outpatient services which include dressing’s clinics, multi-disciplinary team review clinics, scar review clinics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychology.

Visiting times are 2pm–4.30pm & 6pm – 8pm daily.

Children under the age of 16 are not allowed on the unit due to infection prevention.
